As the year comes to a close, we at InMotion Hosting are excited to reflect on an incredible 2024 filled with growth, innovation, and a commitment to empowering our customers. From introducing new features to overcoming challenges, this year has been all about improving our services and helping you succeed in the digital world.

Innovation and Growth at InMotion Hosting

This year, we made significant strides in enhancing our offerings to ensure our customers have access to cutting-edge solutions.

New Control Web Panel Options. In 2024, we introduced Control Web Panel (CWP) as a new choice for managing web hosting tasks. Alongside cPanel, CWP offers a budget-friendly yet powerful toolset for VPS and Dedicated Server customers. This flexibility lets users pick the option that works best for their needs.

Multi-Language Website. On May 21st, we launched a multi-language option for our website. By year-end, visitors could access our site in 14 different languages! This initiative aims to connect with our growing global audience, especially following the opening of our Amsterdam Data Center.

New East Coast Data Center. In a major infrastructure upgrade, we transitioned to a next-generation data center in Ashburn, VA. This move ensures faster, more reliable hosting services for our customers, thanks to state-of-the-art technology and seamless implementation by our expert teams.

Plan Updates

VPS Hosting

Virtual Private Servers are known for their superior security, scalability, and resources compared to basic web hosting. This year we decided to lean into that by giving our customers more of what they want and need out of their VPS plans. We boosted our VPS plans to provide more value, including:

  • SSD and NVMe options
  • Up to 32GB in memory
  • Up to 460GB in storage
  • Unmetered Bandwidth on select plans

Compare the changes among our VPS plans.

Dedicated Servers

This past year we introduced two new plan tiers to accommodate customers with demanding websites:

  • The CC-4000 Dedicated server plan–our highest enterprise-grade solution with 1024GB DDR5 RAM, massive NVMe SSD storage, and up to 10Gbps unmetered bandwidth.
  • With the Extreme Dedicated server plan, we’re making robust, high-capacity servers more affordable for mid-market enterprises, providing a scalable option for businesses not yet ready for commercial-level investments.

Managed WordPress

Managed WordPress on VPS has undergone significant enhancements over the past year. Through multiple updates, we’ve reimagined our plans and upgraded the platform’s design, always prioritizing the needs of our customers.

We began with a revamped interface for the Teams Support Page, introducing a new access point for sFTP login information and an enhanced overview of Launch Assist hours and support communications.

Today, users benefit from improved project navigation, access to additional TLDs, and a comprehensive UI overhaul, delivering greater control and flexibility for their high-end WordPress Hosting environment.

Overcoming Challenges

2024 came with new sets of challenges that gave us significant opportunities to grow and better understand our customer needs. Here is what we learned:

Testing AI Chat Support

In late December of last year, we introduced AI-based live chat support to enhance the convenience and speed of our customer experience. While the goal was to provide instant assistance, the results fell short of our expectations. Through this process, we gained valuable insight into how much our customers value genuine human interaction and personalized support.

By February, we returned to our traditional support model, reaffirming our commitment to providing the thoughtful, human-centered assistance our customers deserve. This experience underscored our dedication to always putting customer needs first, and we remain focused on delivering the high-quality support you rely on.

Centos End-of-Life Migration

The end of CentOS 7 support presented the significant challenge of migrating thousands of customers to newer, updated servers. However, this challenge became an opportunity for us to collaborate with industry leaders like CloudLinux and enhance our hosting infrastructure, ensuring that our customers’ needs remained our top priority.

We are proud to have delivered a solution by successfully deploying fixes for our CentOS 8 servers. During this transition, our dedicated customer support team worked tirelessly to optimize user sites and carefully relocate customers when needed.

Additionally, Shared Hosting customers benefited from proactive upgrades to CloudLinux 9 servers, providing enhanced performance and stability. Through every step, we remained committed to navigating challenges with resilience and delivering reliable solutions.

New Partnerships

Codeable

In April, we partnered with Codeable, a WordPress freelance platform known for its skilled developers and exceptional support. This collaboration gives our users access to high-quality development services backed by a 28-day warranty.

Monarx

Monarx, a real-time threat detection tool, became part of our security offerings this year. Monarx stood out for its accuracy and ease of use. After successful testing, we rolled out Monarx to VPS and Dedicated Server customers, adding an extra layer of security to their hosting plans.

    Rise Against Hunger

This year, InMotion Hosting teamed up with Rise Against Hunger for the second year in a row to help fight hunger. On July 19th, 2024, our team came together at our Virginia Beach office to pack over 10,000 meals for people in need.

The volunteers worked hard setting up stations, bagging meals, and packing them into boxes. These meals were sent to the Rise Against Hunger warehouse and to be sent to communities that need them the most. Last year, the meals we packed went to Haiti, and this year meals will be sent to a region of the Philippines where hunger is most urgent.

We are so thankful for everyone who volunteered their time to make a difference. If you want to learn more about Rise Against Hunger or get involved, visit riseagainsthunger.org. Together, we can help support those who need it most!

    Conclusion

As we wrap up 2024, we remain focused on our mission to empower you with reliable, innovative hosting solutions. Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to an even better 2025!
